Frequently asked questions
Direct answers for companies, Operators and readers of Ground.Africa's public work.
01
Is Ground.Africa an agency or a community?
It is building an on-ground execution network. A community can help Operators learn and connect, but a client engagement is scoped work with defined delivery and reporting.
02
Which products do you work with?
Work is assessed by audience, usefulness, readiness, safety, location and the ability to make accurate claims. Early experience includes fintech and Web3. The model can also apply to relevant commerce, events, programmes and other opportunities; a website category is not proof of an active client relationship.
03
Do you guarantee customers or conversions?
No. A proposal can commit to agreed activities and deliverables, and may set targets. User choices, product quality, eligibility, network conditions and other factors affect conversions. We report the actions we can verify.
04
How much does an engagement cost?
There is no universal public rate. Price depends on city, field days, audience, number of Operators, travel, production, research depth, deliverables and reporting. Ask for a scoped proposal.
05
Do Operators pay to join or receive guaranteed work?
The public application does not itself create a paid assignment. Scope and payment for a commissioned brief are agreed before acceptance. Learning activities and access to future opportunities are not guarantees of earnings.
06
Who owns the content?
An Operator's existing content and identity remain theirs. Rights to commissioned footage, edited material, reposting, attribution and client reuse should be set out in the specific assignment agreement. Public publication requires appropriate permission.
07
Does a product or event shown in Proof endorse Ground.Africa?
Not necessarily. Read the work-origin label. Independent Ground.Africa work is different from a partner-commissioned engagement.
08
Can you work in my city?
Tell us the city, audience, objective and timing. We will assess actual Operator availability and local access before offering a deployment. A city on the roadmap is not guaranteed coverage.
09
How do I get started?
Organisations can send a brief through the Partner page. Prospective Operators can use the Operator application. Readers can inspect public Proof and ask for clarification about a record.
