The Ground.Africa company paper
The thesis, operating model and direction of the company. Public edition · October 2026.
01
Executive summary
A product being online does not mean a relevant person has discovered it, understood it, trusted it or used it. Ground.Africa builds a network of local people who can close parts of that distance through physical conversations and practical assistance.
The company brings together Operators, structured assignments, evidence and reporting. It aims to make local execution easier for organisations to request and easier for Operators to demonstrate.
02
The problem
Online impressions, registrations and social engagement tell only part of the story. Teams may still lack a clear picture of what people understand, what blocks first use, and what happens in a particular city or community.
Physical outreach already exists, but its briefs, delivery standards and evidence can vary widely. Ground.Africa's thesis is that useful local access and a credible record of execution should be organised together.
03
The operating system
- People: Operators with location, capabilities and a record of completed work.
- Briefs: defined audience, place, activity, timeline, budget and evidence.
- Execution: conversations, demonstrations, onboarding assistance, opportunity distribution or interviews.
- Proof: field material and outcome records checked against the agreed brief.
- Learning: feedback and limitations reported to the organisation commissioning the work.
04
The two effects
The first effect happens in person: relevant people can ask questions, see a product or opportunity, and decide whether to act. The second happens through documentation: Operator and Ground.Africa channels can extend the visibility of the work where publication is agreed and appropriate. Online reach does not equal offline adoption; we report each separately.
05
Business model
Ground.Africa intends to earn from scoped field assignments commissioned by organisations. A proposal defines the activity, locations, number of Operators, production and travel needs, deliverables, reporting and price. A public Proof record can also come from independent Ground.Africa work; its presence does not mean a named product or event paid for or endorsed the work.
Operator payment for a commissioned assignment is agreed before an Operator accepts its brief. There is no published universal rate or guaranteed volume of paid work.
06
What is proven and what is planned
The site contains public field records and Operator profiles. The first phase is to prove repeatable delivery, honest reporting, a dependable group of Operators and paid client demand. More cities, regional coordination, quarterly learning programmes and broader product systems are goals under development, not present-scale claims.
07
Principles
- Real work before public claims.
- People keep a visible record of the work they do.
- Agree on outcomes and evidence before field work starts.
- Separate activity, verified actions, online attention and longer-term product use.
- Represent an organisation only with its permission; distinguish independent work from commissioned work.
